Raia man pushed into cybercrime through fake job offers abroad finally returns to Goa

Sept 3 – The person from Arlem, Raia who was lured with a data entry job abroad and pushed into cybercrime in Myanmar has been finally arrived in Goa. The victim identified as Ashish Wagh has been rescued through intervention from Indian Embassies at Myanmar and Thailand. Goa police initiated investigation in the matter after wife of the victim Punam Wagh filed a complaint highlighting the plight of her husband on June 30,2024. As per the complaint the victim was lured into the job by a lady from Old Market, Margao, one Hazel Fernandes who introduced herself as overseas recruiting agent. SP South Sunita Sawant has appealed to members of the public not to fall prey to such fake employment offers.
