Digital Goa, July 15 – Large traffic jams were witnessed on both the Ribandar and Chorao sides on Monday, a day after the deployment of two Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) ferries on the busy route. Inland Waterways Minister Subhash Phaldessai attributed the chaos to initial “teething problems” and assured that the situation would stabilise soon. “Police force will be deployed to manage the congestion,” he said. Two-wheelers tend to crowd near the ramp, making it difficult for other vehicles to alight from the ferry, Phaldessai added. To ease peak-hour pressure, the minister said additional conventional ferries are on standby and will be deployed if needed.
