Digital Goa, May, 11 – A 46-year-old Kolhapur, Maharashtra native residing at Candolim died while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim after sustaining injuries while swimming in a river at Voldev, Kalyem in Sanguem. The deceased identified as Hanumant Gawade had gone to Kalyem along with four friends for house repair work. During a break, the group went for a swim in the river when Gawade allegedly jumped into the river from a height and struck a stone.He was initially shifted to SDH Ponda and later referred to GMC Bambolim, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
