Digital Goa, September 1 – Road accidents in Goa claimed 1,037 lives between 2019 and 2023, according to official data released by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Fatalities recorded each year were 297 (2019), 223 (2020), 226 (2021), 271 (2022), and 290 (2023). During the same five-year period, the state reported a total of 14,521 road accidents. Incidentallt, Goa’s fatality rate stood at 1.99 in 2023, placing it eighth lowest in the country.
