Digital Goa, June 20 – A large group of agitators marched onto the Calangute Panchayat today to protest against the order of the panchayat to remove the recently installed statue of Shivaji Maharaj on major district road at Calangute. Shivswarajya, the organisation which has installed the statue was given 10 days to remove the statue in the order issued by the Panchayat yesterday. Protestors demanded that Panchayat withdraws its order and also tenders apology.
