Digital Goa, August 4 – Directorate of Panchayats has suspended Orville Vales, Secretary/Gram Sevak of Village Panchayat Sancoale, with immediate effect based on an enquiry report by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB). The suspension order states that Vales will now report to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mormugao during the pendency of disciplinary proceedings against him. Vigilance had ordered his suspension on July 2, 2025 and the suspension order was issued by Panchayat department on August 1, 2025. MLA Vijai Sardesai also sought similar disciplinary action on Raia Panchayat Secretary for disrupting panchayat operations. CM Sawant assured the House to inquire into the case.
