Digital Goa, Dec 9 – Supreme Court has dismissed two Special Leave Petitions challenging the High Court judgment that upheld the State Election Commission’s notification issued on November 6 regarding Zilla Panchayat reservation. With the apex court refusing to interfere, the reservation process notified by the SEC remains valid, clearing the way for the upcoming ZP polls of Dec 20 to proceed as scheduled. “After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner, we see no reason and ground to interfere with the impugned judgment passed by the High Court. Accordingly, the special leave petition is dismissed. Pending applications, if any, shall stand disposed of,” stands the apex court order issued yesterday.
