Scheme facilitating empowerment of schools through Community & companies participation notified

    Digital Goa, Aug 3 – Goa govt today notified the ‘Vidhya Sahayya’ scheme to encourage the participation of community and private & public sectors to empower schools in the state. The scheme aims to use voluntary services rendered by community to enhance literacy and the quality of education. The scheme aims to facilitate public and private sector companies and institutions to effectively utilise their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds in the education sector. The scheme is applicable to all Government Primary, Middle, Secondary, Higher Secondary Schools in the State. The scope of the scheme includes training schoolchildren, and volunteering/sponsoring in terms of human resources such as mentors, teachers, resource persons, special educators, therapists, and rehabilitation specialists. Also envisaged is building necessary infrastructure in schools. The schools will have to list out the assistance they would want in public domain. Based on the requirement of the schools companies and volunteers can then connect with the schools.
