Dec 12 – Porvorim resident who was in police custody died at IPHB yesterday. Antonio Pinto, a 55-year-old resident of Porvorim, admitted to IPHB, Bambolim, under a Magistrate’s order on November 10, 2024, passed away at the facility on December 11, 2024. The deceased had been lodged at IPHB by the Porvorim Police for medical treatment following orders under the Mental Health Act from JMFC, Mapusa. As the death occurred under custodial circumstances, SDM Mapusa, has been asked to conduct an inquiry in the matter.
