Seal Arambol Restaurant operating from illegal structure by tomorrow if found operating sans trade licence and consent to operate: HC

Digital Goa, Mar 13 – High Court has directed Secretary of the Arambol Panchayat and the GSPCB officials to inspect if Food Planet 2.0 Restaurant at Arambol has a trade licence and consent to operate and seal the establishment by tomorrow if it was found to be operating sans these documents. Commercial activities are being carried out through a structure which is prima facie illegal and unauthorized as there is already a demolition order against it, said the Court. “If there is no trade license or consent to operate, the Secretary of Panchayat and the officials of the GSPCB must, latest by tomorrow seal the premises and stop the commercial activities,” the Court order adds. Court was hearing the case related to illegal constructions at Arambol. It was brought to the notice of the Court that demolition order was passed by the Panchayat against the structure in May 2021 and Addnl Director of Panchayat had granted a blanket stay on the demolition order in June 2021. Next hearing in the matter is scheduled on April 19,2024
