Sept 14 – Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira has warned that fishing jetties will be sealed if due measures are not taken by the boat owners to maintain hygiene and help curb the spread of Cholera and other vector borne diseases among workers on the jetties. Sequira has been holding a series of meetings with boat owners since the visit of CM Pramod Sawant to the Cutbona jetty earlier this week. It was decide in the meeting that an agency will be hired to provide 30 to 40 portable toilets and bathing facilities to workers and the cost of the same will be borne by the boat owners, informed the minister. Meanwhile, FDA has today raided several shops at the Cutbona fishing jetty.
