Dec 6 – Services of notaries whose names have appeared in the Justice(Retired) V K Jadhav Inquiry Committee report on land grabbing will be terminated, informed Law Minister Aleixo Sequeira. It is a fact that without the connivance of the notaries, land grabbing would not have been possible, he asserted. “We are going to terminate the services of these notaries. The process is on,” he added. Strict action on those who were in connivance with people involved in land grabbing will act as deterrent for others, he said adding further, “I believe the message has to go.” The report of the one man Inquiry Commission on land grabbing in Goa was accepted by the Goa cabinet in January 2024.
