Several accidents reported on first day of new year in Goa; many injured

    Digital Goa, Jan 1  – Several accidents were reported on the first day of the year following the new year celebrations in the state. First accident was reported on the newly opened Agassaim flyover with a car hitting the railing and overturning. Three occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries. It is suspected that the driver might have dozed off while driving and lost control over the car. In another accident between van and car at Corlim near Old Goa, six passengers from both the vehicles were injured. The Karnataka registered van met with head on collision with Goa registered car. In Verna, two cars banged against each other and went off the road. Three occupants of both cars were injured. In yet another accident, a parked car was gutted in fire at Parra reportedly due to fire crackers.
