Dec 10- Chief Minister Pramod Sawant handed over the Indian citizenship certificate to Pakistani Christian Shane Sebastian Pareira and his family under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, making him second such person to receive citizenship under CAA in Goa. Shane, originally a Pakistani citizen, migrated to India over 4 decades back, shortly after his birth. He completed his school education in Goa and has since been a long-standing resident of the state. Incidentally, 78-year-old Goa born Joseph Pereira who has later taken Pakistani citizenship was the first person to receive Indian Citizenship under CAA in the Goa on Aug 28,2024.
