Digital Goa, Sept 9, 2025 – A grocery shop at the Panchayat building premises in Shiroda was allegedly burgled and set on fire in the early hours of September 8, 2023. Four persons have been booked by Ponda police in the case. As per the complaint filed in this regards at the Ponda police station, losses are estimated between ₹20–25 lakh. According to complaint, the accused all residents of Shiroda — allegedly broke open the rear door of the shop owned by Amisha Naik and stole grocery items and other articles. They later set the premises ablaze, destroying the remaining stock, furniture, and fixtures, states the complaint.
