More time need for Taad Maad road
Digital Goa, Apr 1 – The Smart City Mission officially ended on March 31, with the Central government considering all projects completed. Finishing stages are underway, informed Smart City CEO Sanjit Rodrigues. “In the eyes of the Central govt, all the projects have been completed and finishing stages are on,” he said. 90% of the works have been completed, he said further. Sanjit stated that all road network works have been completed as per the deadlines mentioned in the affidavit submitted to the High Court. However, final works, including bituminous concrete laying, road painting, traffic signage installation, and rectification of settlements caused by deep digging, will be completed by May 31, 2025. Additionally, tree plantation and landscaping will be finished by June 30. Rodrigues assured that as of April 1, 2025, there is no road closure, barricading, open trenching, or digging in Central Panaji under the Smart City Mission. If any such work is ongoing, he clarified that it is unrelated to the project. However, he acknowledged that work on the Taad Maad road near Caculo Mall at St Inez remains incomplete due to certain complexities, requiring additional time for completion.
