Digital Goa, Sept 11 – Taking note of the measures taken by the Margao Municipality towards garbage handling at Sonsodo waste treatment site, the High Court has now permitted the Margao Municipality to give construction licences to single dwelling units i.e. individual houses that are being constructed by an individuals, informed AG Devidas Pangam. Renewal of licenses has also been permitted, he added. “High Court has however not permitted giving of construction licences to multi dwelling and multi storied buildings for now,” said AG. In July this year, High Court had asked the Margao Municipality not to issue any fresh construction licence till the date of next hearing regarding the Sonsodo site.
