In a first, Goa police screen people with drug testing machines; 7 held from North Goa beach belt

    Digital Goa, Feb 19 – In a joint operation by ANC police, Crime Branch and Anjuna Police total of 7 persons have been booked for consumption of narcotic drugs by using instant drug testing machine for the first time. The tests were done with the help of Sotoxa machine by taking samples of saliva.

    On Feb 18 about 11 pm of night, staff of ANC PS, Crime Branch and Anjuna PS conducted patrolling on Vagator beach.  While on patrolling duty  accused persons were checked and tested positive for consumption of narcotic drugs i.e. the accused persons are namely Dhaval Kumar Odhavjibhai Sojitra (age 28yrs) resident of  Arambol, Pernem and native of Surat City, Gujarat ,  Nidhin N ( age 32yrs),Dilshad Najeeb (age 27yrs) and Ajin Joiy (age 20yrs) all three from Kerala , Sandesh S. Naik (age 28yrs) from  Karwar, Karnataka , M Vijaya Shankar ( age 24yrs) from Karnataka  and Koladiya Nishant Bharat Bhai (age 26yrs) from  Surat city, Gujarat.  Police further informed that with the help of Sotoxa machine, oral saliva screening was done randomly during which they all tested positive. The drives will continue in future also to ensure that Goa is a drug free state, said police.
