Aug 31- South Goa District Hospital will be soon designated as tertiary hospital equipped with all facilities, said Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Speaking to media, Rane said that South Goa District Hospital is Goa’s second biggest hospital with 1300 patients visiting OPD per day. “We want to make SGDH a Centre of Excellence so that there is no need for referrals to GMC. Referring to the issue of shortage of ambulances in the hospital, Rane said that 6 ambulances will be provided to SGDH immediately including two through MPLAD scheme by Sadanand Tanavade and two from his own trust. 16 more ambulances will be procured shortly through CSR funds, he added. An audit will be conducted of 108 ambulance service next week, he said.
