Only 124 of the 385 identified bulk waste generators in South Goa have registered on the Centralised Online Portal, prompting South Goa Collector Egna Cleetus to direct Deputy Collectors to ensure on-site verification and registration of unregistered establishments by November 30. Chairing a District Level Committee review of solid waste management compliance, Cleetus directed officials to maintain separate online lists of identified and registered bulk waste generators. The September 2026 report recorded 25 inspections across talukas and 20 directions issued for non-compliance.
The committee also reviewed 32 public complaints concerning garbage dumping and littering. Deputy Collectors were instructed to maintain updated online records of complaints, inspections, action taken and compliance status.
