SP warns of Departmental action on traffic police personnel found misusing e-challan machines

    Digital Goa, Aug 29 – Departmental action will be initiated on case to case basis if there are any instances of e-challan machines being misuse by Traffic police personnel, informed SP Akshat Kaushal. He further went on to add that even if logins are made using same ID on multiple devices to issue e-challans to violators, the money will go to the govt treasury. Kaushal said that Goa Police are coordinating with the Software designers, National Informatics Centre (NIC) to do appropriate changes to the software to make it more efficient. “There are issues related to software, people forgetting to logout etc,” he added.
    ▪️ Software lacunae but not misuse: DGP
    DGP Jaspal Singh also conceded that there is lacunae in the software. “Yes a software lacunae, but not a misuse. No loss to exchequer. On the contrary more Prosecution but by an unentitled cop in zeal to enhance enforcement. A gap which can be rectified by software developer,” he said.
