July 24 – Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar today came in support of a third district for the state, specifically comprising of tribal belt talukas of Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem and Dharbandora. He proposed that Quepem should be a central point for the new district. MLA Nilesh Cabral had also proposed a third district to provide easy accessibility to government services for citizens staying in the hinterland talukas.
