Digital Goa, October 26, 2025 – Panaji Police have registered a case against a Mumbai-based sports organiser for allegedly conducting a swimming event at Caranzalem beach without the required permissions or safety measures. According to police, the accused, Kapil Arora (50), a sports organiser from Andheri West, Mumbai, allegedly held the “Oceanman” swimming event on Sunday morning without prior approval from authorities or deploying lifeguards and security personnel. Police said the event endangered public safety and that Arora collected ₹3,26,100 in registration fees from participants without ensuring their protection. Locals halted the event when it started this morning, alleging it caused obstruction to fishermen. They also pointed out that no proper permissions had been obtained.
