Digital Goa, Jan 11 – St Cruz MLA Rudolf Fernandes on Sunday said that he would do everything to ensure the protection of Toyyar Lake, while clearing his stand on the Unity Mall Project. Fernandes added that CM Pramod Sawant has assured that the lake would be safeguarded. The MLA was reacting to a march by protesting villagers from Chimbel to his residence in St Cruz earlier in the day. Fernandes said he had offered to hold discussions with a delegation of five protesters, but the offer was not accepted.Villagers are up in arms against the Unity Mall project, and have been staging protests near project site for the past two weeks.
