Digital Goa, Feb 2 – St Cruz villagers have threatened to launch a hunger strike if the government fails to notify the influence zone of Bondvol Lake within a week. Villagers who gathered at Azad Maidan in Panaji expressed displeasure over the government’s inaction on the main demand raised by the large gathering last week. They pointed out that permissions are being granted for construction beyond 50 metres under the Wetland Conservation Act, despite the High Court recommending an influence zone of 200 metres.
