Digital Goa, Aug 1 – Nearly 1,200 posts are vacant in the State Electricity Dept due to which the department is facing staff crunch. The House was told by Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar that maximum i.e. 301 line helper posts are vacant followed by 207 Assistant Lineman/Wireman posts and 134 Lineman/wireman posts among others. The Department has advertised 255 posts of Line Helper and the recruitment process is underway. Other vacant posts will be filled up through Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC), Dhavlikar added. He also assured on the floor of the house that issues related to appointment of 400 lineman on contract basis will be sorted out before this Ganesh Chaturthi.
