Digital Goa, May 15 – With global uncertainty looming due to the Iran-US conflict, the Goa Tourism Department has planned a key stakeholders’ meeting on May 20 to chalk out clear and structured plan of action to safeguard the state’s tourism sector, informed Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte. A review meeting with stakeholders from various sectors was held on May 14 to assess the current situation, discuss possible austerity measures and plan a roadmap to minimise the economic impact on Goa’s tourism-dependent economy. “Flights are full presently as quality tourists coming to Goa don’t mind spending as they don’t get destination like Goa,” said Khaunte. Meanwhile, several airlines, including SpiceJet and IndiGo, have begun reducing flight operations to and from Goa as part of nationwide route rationalisation, raising concerns among tourism industry stakeholders.
