Digital Goa, Feb 9- Goa govt has extended the date by which scheme of special concession of 1 % stamp duty and registration fee will be applicable to co-operative housing societies for registering their deed of sale or conveyance to March 31,2024. “Special rates provided are just 1% each of stamp duty and registration fees and these special concession in rate of stamp duty and registration fees is available only if the deed of sale/conveyance is registered with the concerned Sub-registrar’s office within period of three months commencing from August 01, 2023 has been extended with effect from January 25, 2024 upto March 31,2024,” states the govt order. The scheme has been further simplified wherein the reckoning of the stamp duty chargeable on instruments of conveyance such as a Deed of Conveyance or Deed of Sale or Deed of Transfer shall be done, and such instruments shall be registered, by the sub-registrar on the basis of the Valuation Report of the property prepared by any Government approved valuer and such Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding without insisting for production of such Agreement or Memorandum of Understanding registered before the sub-registrar.
