Oct 22- The State has filed an appeal before the High Court of Bombay at Goa, challenging the Panaji Children’s Court’s decision to acquit Grishma Talwar in the 2009 murder case of a minor girl. In addition, the state has also urged the court to enhance the punishment for Chandrakant Talwar and Cyron Rodrigues, both of whom were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the case. The state is appealing for their sentences to be upgraded to the death penalty. The 16-year-old minor girl who was known to Cyron was taken to Vasco on pretext of showing her the open school examination center and strangulated on the way. The gang of four – Cyron, Chandrakant and his wife Grishma and a minor girl had allegedly killed and robbed four women in 3 days in 2009. Grishma was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
