Digital Goa, July 13 – In an effort to enforce single use plastic ban in the state, state govt has directed the authorities to conduct exhaustive inspection drives at regular intervals in the area under their jurisdiction to identify manufacturers and suppliers of banned SUP items including the plastic coated SUP items through contact tracing. They have been also asked to take necessary action against the violators including imposing penalty, seizure of SUP items, levying environmental compensation, suspension of commercial license/sealing of the manufacturing. The officials will also conduct regular checking at entry and exit points of the State boundaries to ensure that banned thin plastic layered plates and other single use plastics are not being supplied to the respective States.
