Digital Goa, Mar 17 – State Government will prepare a comprehensive Forest Fire Management Plan to prevent and manage forest fires, informed Forest Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Since March 5, total of 71 fire spots have been attended to and doused, he said. A review meeting on Fires in Goa was conducted today with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI, Members of NDMA, AS, and JS, NDMA along with officers of MoEFCC, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) MHA. During the meeting, it was also discussed that Goa should be included in the National Forest Fire Prevention and Management Plan being prepared by NDMA, MHA. The NDMA, advised Forest Department to assess the area affected by fires and take corrective measures at the earliest.
