State Wildlife Board cleared Tamnar Electricity Project and 3 Eco Tourism Projects at Surla, Mollem and Netravali: CM

    Digital Goa, Nov 21- State Board of Wildlife cleared several projects including Tamnar electricity project, Eco Tourism projects at Surla, Mollem and Netravali villages and erection of 8 BSNL towers in protected areas in different villages, informed CM Pramod Sawant. The meeting of the Wildlife Board was held yesterday evening. The meeting chaired by Sawant was attended by Forest Minister Vishwajeet Rane, Goa Forest Development Corporation(GFDC) Chairperson Deviya Rane and other board members. The meeting discussed several Eco-Tourism proposals of GFDC, the Nodal Agency for development of Eco- Tourism in Protected Areas and Government forests. The projects discussed include development of Eco-camps in Surla (Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary) and Aranayak Camp ,Collem (Bhagwan Mahavir National Park), wildlife tours in Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, development of eco-friendly services at Dudhasagar waterfall for visitors in Bhagawan Mahaveer National Park and Wildlife tours through specially designed jeep safaris in Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary. The Board has asked Forest Department to carry out a study in consultation with experts to prepare a comprehensive plan for development of eco-tourism, informed Forest Minister Vishwajeet Rane.
