Dec 10- Sugarcane farmers have appealed to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to extend the special subsidy scheme for another five years or until alternative arrangements are made. They expressed concern over the government’s failure to replace the closed down Sanjivani Sugar Factory and the lack of a clear policy in the matter. With the subsidy period ending this year, farmers emphasized their dependence on the scheme and urged the government to continue financial support until a permanent solution is found. Farmers held a meeting today and decided to submit a representation to the government.
