Digital Goa, October 15 – Members of the Central Empowered Committee (CEC) constituted by the Supreme Court are scheduled to visit Goa on October 16 and 17 to review matters related to the ongoing case on the state’s proposed tiger reserve.According to a communication from the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, the committee members — Chandra Prakash Goyal and Sunil Limaye — will meet government officials, respondents, and stakeholders linked to the Special Leave Petition (Civil) No. 20683 of 2023 (State of Goa vs Goa Foundation & others). Sessions are scheduled for various stakeholders from constituencies including Sanvordem, Valpoi, Canacona, Sanguem,and Poriem tomorrow at Porvorim Secretariat. Elected representatives, including ministers and MLAs from the affected constituencies, have been invited to attend along with up to 15 local representatives each. The CEC’s visit comes amid ongoing deliberations over Goa’s tiger reserve proposal and related conservation and land-use concerns.
