Digital Goa, Jan 4 –  Chief Town Planner has been asked to take immediate action against 160 allegedly illegal houses at Davorlim, Margao, informed TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane. In addition, show cause notices will be issued by the CO of the Margao Municipality as it comes under the jurisdiction of the Municipal area, he added. “Following a complaint of approximately 160 illegal houses in Davorlim, South Goa, I have directed Chief Town Planner to take immediate action on the violations of the illegal structures,” said Rane. Such illegalities will not be tolerated, he asserted. Incidentally, Davorlim-Dicarpale panchayat had rejected nearly 165 applications filed by locals seeking house numbers, on grounds that those houses do not have proper documents. Former Minister Babu Ajgaonkar had demanded that the applicants be given approval for house numbers as under the new law, the panchayat can issue house numbers even if the house was built without legal procedure.
