Technical lapse led to hearing notice to South Goa MP clarifies Mormugao Joint Mamlatdar

Digital Goa, Jan 8 – Office of the Joint Mamlatdar–III, Mormugao Taluka, has clarified that the hearing notice issued to South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was due to a technical issue. Officials said the enumeration form collected by the Booth Level Officer did not contain some mandatory details from the previous SIR, including the Assembly Constituency, Part and Serial numbers. As a result, the digital system could not link the form to the existing electoral roll and categorised it as “unmapped,” automatically triggering a hearing notice as per procedure. The matter is under inquiry, added the clarification note.
