Digital Goa, July 11- Yet another tragic case of death due to drowning has been recorded in Goa. A 16-year-old boy from Shantinagar died due to drowning at a laterite quarry at Cansaulim. The deceased identified as Anil Chavan had gone to the old non-operational laterite quarry for a swim along with a group of friends. State Mines Dept had issued an order in the last week of June this year directing lease owners to barricade quarrying pits and stone quarries in view of frequent drowning incidents at abandoned stone quarries in the state. Incidentally, this is the 7th death due to drowning reported in Goa in the first 11 days of this month.
