Telecom tower rents on govt land set at ₹60,000 to ₹3 lakh in Goa under new telecom policy

Digital Goa, Nov 21 – The Goa government has notified a new telecom infrastructure policy setting uniform rental rates and guidelines for installing mobile towers, poles and small cells on government land to support expanding 5G needs. Urban rentals are fixed at ₹3 lakh for ground-based towers and ₹60,000 for rooftop towers for five years, while rural rates are half of this. The policy also introduces registration and processing fees, stricter penalties for unauthorised towers, and a 50% hike on renewal. To reduce duplication, operators are encouraged to share towers without additional rent. All applications must now be filed through the Central RoW Portal for faster approval.
