Digital Goa, July 22 – A total of ten casinos in Goa — both onshore and offshore — have defaulted on payments amounting to ₹352.44 crore, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Tuesday. CM Pramod Sawant, in a written reply, said the dues pertain to Annual Recurring Fees and COVID-19-related liabilities. Goa currently has 24 casino licence holders- 18 onshore and 6 offshore. Of the 18 onshore casinos, nine have pending dues, while three of these are non-operational. Only one of the offshore casino has pending dues. Six other onshore casinos have either had their licences revoked or are currently not in operation.
Meanwhile, government has collected a total of ₹1,661.27 crore in revenue from onshore and offshore casinos between April 2021 and July 10, 2025, house was told in the written reply.
