Aug 22- Three persons including one 8th standard student was injured in lighting strike at Udiwada, Usgaon, Ponda yesterday evening. The injured are identified as student Saish Tilve, Akshita Tilve and Ashvika Naik. Most electric appliances in the two houses in the vicinity of spot where lighting struck have been damaged. One of the injured, Ashvika Naik had to be shifted to health center for treatment.

Meanwhile, IMD Goa has issued yellow alert for the state till August 26. “Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and Heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over North Goa & South Goa districts on 22nd & 23rd August 2024. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over North Goa & South Goa districts on 23rd, 24th & 25th August 2024,” states the IMD forecast.
