Three more West Bengal natives arrested in Rs 5 crore Samagra Shiksha fund fraud

Digital Goa, June 1- Goa police have made three additional arrests in the ongoing investigation into the around Rs 5 crore fraud involving the Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan scheme. Acting on leads from the 2 persons arrested earlier, a Porvorim police team first arrested Sumanta Mondal (40), from Nazirpur, Nadia, West Bengal. Following this, two more accused were nabbed in Delhi’s Paharganj area with assistance from Delhi Police. They were identified as Alamin Mondal (35) from Nadia, West Bengal, and Bidyadhar Mallick (52) from Howrah, West Bengal. Investigations revealed that the accused procured bank details, SIM cards, and ATM cards of various account holders and passed them on to other co-accused in the racket, receiving monetary compensation in return. Earlier, businessman from West Bengal one Robin Paul and one more accused was arrested by police in the matter. This makes the total number of arrests in the case to 5.
