Digital Goa, Oct 22 – Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has assured that any traffic diversions on the Porvorim–Mapusa route, necessitated by the ongoing elevated corridor construction, will be implemented only after clear and suitable alternative routes are put in place. Given the ongoing tourist season and the expected influx of visitors, Khaunte said the government wants to take necessary precautions to ensure minimal inconvenience to both locals and tourists. The Minister, along with Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza, reviewed the progress of the elevated corridor work and inspected the traffic situation on Wednesday morning. Officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Traffic Cell, District Collector’s Office, and other related departments were present at the site visit.
