Trio arrested for assaulting and robbing Railway official at Margao Railway station

Digital Goa, Feb 28 – Three persons have been arrested by Konkan Railway Police for waylaying and robbing a Railway official who was deputed in Goa on special duty, on Platform No 6 of Margao Railway Station. The accused are identified as Samir Bepari(age 26 years), Kasim Kundagan (age 23 years) and Sadiq Nalband (age 22 years). All three are natives of Karnataka while Samir Bepari is presently residing at Navelim. When 35-year-old Kerala native Railway official from Belgaum Mithun Raj K K who was deputed in Goa on special duty was returning to the Railway Holiday Home at around 11 pm on Feb 25 he was wrongfully restrained by the accused persons. They assaulted him and forcibly took away cash of Rs 1000 and Railway Emergency Duty Pass from his wallet. They also took him to the nearby ATM and made him withdraw cash of Rs 5,000. The miscreants had eloped from the scene taking Mithun Raj’s bag along with them. Police banned the accused after he complained about the incident on Feb 26.
