Jan 8 – A truck driver from Moira has been arrested for death of a loader due to negligence. The accused, Ratnakar Thakur, a 49-year-old driver from Moira, allegedly started the truck without checking the surroundings. This led to a loader, Masih Lugun, 37, being crushed between the truck’s rear door and a metal channel in the shed, causing fatal injuries. Lugun succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. The accident occurred on January 6 evening at a Distribution Warehouse at Assagao.
