Digital Goa, Oct 13 – Two persons who had climbed down a well near petrol pump at Gullem, Canacona died due to drowning. The Nomi Gaonkar (age 43 years) from Gullem, Canacona and Barkelo Gaonkar (age 40 years) from Gokuldem, Barcem, both working at the petrol pump had climbed down the well, allegedly to remove a dead turtle from the well. The incident occurred around 7 pm. Both were good swimmers according to locals. Fire fighters were called in to carry our search and rescue operation. They recovered the bodies of both the deceased from the well. Situation at the petrol pump was tense as locals gathered at the site in large numbers.
