Digital Goa, Aug 30 – Mumbai Police have arrested Goa residents Siddhesh Tari and Pritesh Salgaonkar at Dodamarg, Maharashtra, in an extortion case allegedly linked to a proposed housing project at Karapur, Bicholim.The duo, who were part of the nearly 148-day Karapur-Sarvan protest, are accused by officials linked to the project proponents, of demanding money to stop the agitation and allegedly extorting lakhs on that pretext. Pritesh’s family claimed they were not informed about his arrest after he went missing yesterday. Protestors, meanwhile, asserted that the arrests have not intimidated them, but instead have only strengthened their resolve to continue opposing the project.
