Digital Goa, August 29 – A woman has been booked for culpable homicide after two men were electrocuted by a live electric wire she had illegally installed on her property in Rivona on the day of Chaturthi. The victims—Rajendra Gaonkar and Mohandas Gaonkar, both residents of Pandevsada—came into contact with the wire and died on the spot. According to the police report, the accused, Jayu Gaonkar, a resident and owner of the property, had knowingly drawn a live wire from her home’s electric board and laid it around her land as an improvised security measure. The two men were returning home with grass for their cattle when they accidentally stepped onto the electrified area. Given the accused’s full knowledge of the potentially fatal consequences of her actions, authorities have registered a case of culpable homicide against her.
