Digital Goa, Jan 2 – United Opposition today alleged that BJP government in Goa is in connivance with the Center and Karnataka on the approval of DPR for Kalsa Bhandura Projects over river Mhadei. “This is a political setup,” said LoP Yuri Alemao.  If CM Sawant and WRD Minister are meeting the Prime Minister they should get the approval for the  DPR withdrawn within a week or CM should resign on moral grounds, he asserted. He also questioned the silence of 33 MLAs in the ruling on the Mhadei issue which is of prime importance to Goa and Goans. Goa Forward MLA Vijai Sardesai said that Goa govt’s claims that they were unaware of the DPR were untrue. He presented a letter dated Dec 17,2020 from Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat which mentions that the PFR/DPR of the Kalsa and Bhandura diversion schemes was shared with Resident Commissioner of Goa.  “The DPR mentioned in the letter is old one and has already been rejected. The one approved by CWC is new DPR which was not sent to us,” claimed CM Sawant.
