Feb 14 – The trial court has convicted accused Vikat Bhagat for the murder of British backpacker Danielle McLaughlin. The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on Feb 17. The 28-year-old Irish-British national Danielle McLaughlin’s body was found in a pool of blood in Canacona area in 2017. 31-year-old Vikat Bhagat from Canacona was arrested for raping and murdering Danielle after a Holi party.
