Villagers demand operationalisation of Tuem Hospital by December, warn of protest

Digital Goa, Oct 9, 2025 – The Tuem Hospital Kruti Samitee has submitted a memorandum to the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Campal, urging the government to make the Tuem Hospital fully operational. The submission included resolutions passed by all Pernem panchayats in support of the demand.The 100-bed Tuem Hospital, constructed in 2021, remains partially operational, currently offering only limited services due to a shortage of essential medical equipment and staff. Villagers have warned they will launch protests if the hospital is not made fully functional by December 2025, emphasising the urgent need for accessible healthcare in the region.
